Privacy Policy

Last updated: 7 October 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Puffin Skincare Pty Ltd ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses and shares information when you use the HyperClock mobile app (the "App"). We are based in New South Wales, Australia.

If you have any questions, contact us at hyperclockapp@gmail.com.

1. The short version

HyperClock does not currently require an account. Wake-up missions, including camera, voice and motion missions, are processed on your device and are never uploaded to us. We collect limited usage and device information to understand how the App is used and to process subscriptions. The App does not show ads, and we do not sell your personal information.

2. Information we collect

Information you give us

If you contact us for support or send feedback, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message.

Purchase information

Subscriptions and purchases are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We never receive your payment card details. We receive limited transaction information, such as the product purchased, purchase date, subscription status and country, through our subscription provider, RevenueCat.

Information collected automatically

When you use the App, we and our service providers automatically collect:

  • Device information: device model, operating system and version, language, time zone and app version.
  • Usage information: features and screens you use, alarm and mission settings you choose, how you interact with paywalls, and in-app events such as completing a mission or starting a trial.
  • Identifiers: an anonymous app user ID generated by the App and your IP address.
  • Diagnostic information: crash logs, error reports and performance data.

Your alarms, streaks and wake-up statistics are stored on your device.

Information from device permissions

Some features need access to parts of your device. We only request access when you use the relevant feature, and you can turn access off at any time in your device settings.

  • Camera: used for exercise missions (counting push-ups, squats and similar movements) and photo missions (such as making your bed, finding an object or scanning a barcode). Camera images are analysed on your device in real time and are not uploaded to us or any third party. Any reference photo you set for a mission is stored only on your device.
  • Microphone and speech recognition: used for voice missions, where you read a phrase aloud to dismiss an alarm. Speech is processed on your device using your device's built-in speech recognition. We do not record, store or upload your voice.
  • Motion and fitness: used for shake and step-count missions. This data is processed on your device only.
  • Notifications and alarms: used to deliver alarms, reminders and relevant App updates.
  • Files and media: used if you choose your own alarm sound. Selected files stay on your device.
  • Screen Time and app usage (App Block, future feature): the current version of the App does not include App Block. If we add it in a future version and you choose to turn it on, the App will be able to block apps you select until you complete your wake-up mission or during a schedule you set. On iOS, this would use Apple's Screen Time framework, which only gives us anonymous tokens for the apps you select, so we cannot see which apps you chose or how you use them. On Android, this would use Usage Access or an Accessibility Service solely to detect when a blocked app is opened and show a block screen. We would not collect, store, upload or share which apps you use, how long you use them, or anything shown on your screen. All App Block data would stay on your device.

3. Optional accounts (future feature)

The current version of the App does not offer accounts. If we introduce optional accounts in a future version, for example to sync your data or take part in leaderboards, and you choose to create one, we will collect:

  • Your email address, and if you sign in with Apple or Google, the identifier and details that provider shares with us.
  • A username you choose.
  • Your streaks and wake-up statistics, stored on our servers so they can be synced and shown on leaderboards.

If you join a leaderboard, your username and streak information will be visible to other users. You will be able to delete your account and its associated data at any time from within the App.

4. How we use information

We use the information above to:

  • Provide the App's features and deliver your alarms.
  • Process subscriptions, free trials and purchase restores.
  • Provide account features and leaderboards, if you create an account.
  • Understand how the App is used so we can fix bugs and improve features.
  • Measure the performance of our marketing.
  • Respond to your support requests.
  • Detect and prevent fraud, abuse and security issues.
  • Comply with our legal obligations.

5. Legal bases (EEA and UK users)

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on the following legal bases:

  • Performance of a contract: to provide the App, your subscription and any account features.
  • Legitimate interests: to analyse usage, improve the App and keep it secure.
  • Consent: for access to device permissions and any advertising measurement. You can withdraw consent at any time.
  • Legal obligation: where the law requires us to keep or disclose information.

6. Service providers we share information with

We share information with trusted service providers who help us run the App. They can only use it to provide their services to us.

We may also use the following providers in future versions of the App:

We may also disclose information if required by law, to respond to valid requests from public authorities, to protect our rights, users or the public, or as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of our business, in which case this Privacy Policy will continue to apply to your information.

7. Advertising and tracking

The App does not display ads. We do not currently track your activity across other companies' apps or websites.

If we add marketing attribution tools in the future, on iOS we will only access your advertising identifier (IDFA) and track across other apps if you allow it through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt. You can change this at any time in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking. On Android, you can reset or delete your Advertising ID in your device settings under Google > Ads.

We do not sell your personal information for money. Under some US state laws, such as the California Consumer Privacy Act, sharing identifiers with advertising partners for ad measurement may count as "sharing" or "targeted advertising". If we do this in the future, you can opt out by turning off tracking as described above or by emailing us at hyperclockapp@gmail.com.

8. How long we keep information

  • Data stored on your device stays there until you delete it or delete the App.
  • Analytics data is kept for up to 24 months, then deleted or anonymised.
  • Purchase records are kept as long as needed to provide your subscription and meet tax and accounting obligations.
  • Support emails are kept as long as needed to resolve your request, and up to 24 months after that.
  • Account data, if you create an account, is kept until you delete your account and is then deleted within 30 days, unless we are required by law to keep it.

9. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate information.
  • Delete your information.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing.
  • Receive a copy of your information in a portable format.
  • Withdraw consent at any time.
  • Opt out of targeted advertising or "sharing".

To make a request, email hyperclockapp@gmail.com and include the user ID shown in the App under Settings so we can find your data. If you have an account, you can also delete it directly in the App. We will respond within the time required by law and will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

To delete data stored on your device, delete the App. Deleting the App does not cancel your subscription. Manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple or Google account settings.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to your local data protection authority: in Australia, the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au); in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk); in the EEA, your local supervisory authority. We would appreciate the chance to resolve your concern first.

10. International transfers

We are based in Australia, and some of our service providers process data in the United States and other countries, which may have different data protection laws from yours. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as Standard Contractual Clauses, to protect your information when it is transferred.

11. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit and limiting who can access it. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. Children

The App is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA and UK). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, if the changes are significant, notify you in the App. Continuing to use the App after an update means you accept the updated policy.
